Started  the first ever cashew apple processing unit in the district after attending a 15 day long vocational training on ‘Cashew apple processing’ at KVK. ‘TOMCO’ is the brand name given to his products viz. cashew apple syrup and cashew apple drink and is having FPO license.

Nakshathra Banana Fibre Handicraft unit

KVK trainee, Kum.Sarojini , Edakkom started a  mechanized banana fibre extraction unit with the financial assistance from District Industries Centre , Kannur and credit facility through “KVK –SBI loan window”.  She is serving as a resource person for conducting training on banana fibre extraction in Kannur and Kasargod

Hopes The former trainees of KVK have formed a registred society, christened. 'HOPES(Honeycomb Peasant Society)'.The society produces, procure & distributes honey and value added products under the brand name,"Hopes". They also organize training programmes and distribute beehives. The society has developed an ant proof beehive stand and is available for sale.
Mush health-an initiative by KVK Trainees The Ex-Trainees of KVK from Alakode Panchayat has started a Mushroom Unit named as 'Mush Health'.
